No small print
Travel booking is full of hidden margins, invented urgency and reviews nobody wrote. This page is our attempt at the opposite: the numbers below are read live from the system that runs the checkout, not typed in by a marketing team.
We don't run tours. Every experience on this site is sold by an independent operator who has connected the reservation system they already use to ours. When you look at a page here, the availability, the times and the prices are being read from their system in that moment, not from a copy we took last week.
That's also why some listings have no photo or no description: we show what the operator publishes. We don't write descriptions on their behalf or attach stock photography to make a page look fuller than the data behind it.
The operator runs the experience. Trendetna takes the payment and passes the booking to them. Every listing names its operator, and every operator has a page showing everything they run and any independent rating we could verify.
Of 12 operators, 0 have a TripAdvisor profile we were able to match with confidence. The rest show no rating at all: not a zero, and not one we made up.
Whatever the total is, it's itemised on the payment screen before you enter a card, with the exchange rate written out. No line appears after you've committed.
The catalogue is priced in each operator's own currency. When you pick a different display currency, the figures on cards and listing pages are converted at a mid-market rate and marked with a ≈. They're a guide, not a quote.
The amount you actually pay is calculated on our server against a fresh price from the operator, and charged in USD. Rates come from open.er-api.com, refreshed every few hours; the one used for your booking is recorded on your receipt so it can be checked later. If our rates go stale we charge in USD rather than guess.
We don't collect reviews and we don't write them. Where you see a rating, it says where it came from:
Cancellation terms are the operator's, shown on every listing and again at checkout. When you cancel, we ask the operator first. If they release the booking, the full amount is refunded to your card automatically. If they're outside their window and won't release it, we tell you that instead of quietly taking the booking away and keeping the money.
Etna can only recommend things that exist in our catalogue, it's given a shortlist of real listings and told to work from those alone. It can't invent a venue, a price or a rating, and it can't link you anywhere off this site. Its spending is capped at $5 a day, and every call is metered.
Found something on this site that contradicts any of the above? Tell us at hello@trendetna.com, and that would be a bug, and we'd want to fix it.
