First time in Europe and I am going to ask the thing everyone else already seems to know. I land in Athens on Thursday and the forecast is 38 then 39. I have read that the Acropolis shuts in the middle of the day when it gets like that. If that happens to me, is a half day out to Cape Sounion a sensible use of the afternoon, or is it the same problem in a place with even less shade? Second thing. When people say half day, do they mean four hours or do they mean back by seven. I have seen both used for the same trip. Third one is the honest one. Is it strange to book a private car for one person? I do not want to be the only passenger in a vehicle built for six and have it be awkward for both of us for four hours.
