One free day in Riyadh. I am here for work until Thursday and I would like to see the escarpment. In two separate places I have read that the unpaved section is 90 minutes and that cars get stuck on it. I have now thought about this considerably more than is good for me. Questions, and sorry that there are several. How long is the car really on gravel. Is there shade at the top, any at all. What does the driver do for the four or five hours you are up there. I feel strange about a person waiting that long for one passenger and I would like to know what actually happens. It has been 44 every afternoon this week so I am aware June is the wrong month. It is the only month I am offered. Also, do I bring food or does the driver stop somewhere on the way out. Nobody writes this down anywhere.
