Right so, four days in Samana and I am comfortably the cheapest person here, so this is for the other cheap people. Guagua over from Las Terrenas, 100 pesos, about 50 minutes, more people in it than there were seats but that is the deal you sign up for. Whale boats leave the little port in Samana town at nine and again at half one. Season basically finishes this week so I was cutting it fine. The boat I ended up on had about 35 people and two decks. Out for roughly two and a half hours, four humpbacks, one of them did the whole jump thing twice and the entire boat screamed. 3,900 pesos including the marine park fee, which I think is 500 of that. Thing I would do differently. There are much smaller boats going from the same port, around 12 people, maybe a third more money. On a 35 person boat everybody stampedes to one side the second anything surfaces and you spend a good chunk of the trip looking at the back of a stranger's head. I would pay the extra if I did it again. El Limon waterfall while I am here. Walk it or go by horse. I walked, about 40 minutes each way, proper mud in a few sections, wear shoes you have no feelings about. Entry 200 pesos and I gave the lad who walked with me 300. The pool at the bottom is cold and deep enough to jump into from the left side, there is a rock everyone uses. Ate rice and beans and fish at the same place three nights running for 350 pesos, mostly because I could not face finding another one.
