If your back is doubtful, ask for the middle row rather than the rear bench, and ask at the hotel rather than at the vehicle, because by then the seats are settled. The sky was worth the rattling. This is probably a stupid question, but where do you actually go to the toilet at a desert camp? I keep not asking and then thinking about it for the whole day beforehand.

Not stupid at all, Grace. The camps we have been to had a small block behind the seating area with two or three cubicles in it. Take your own tissue and a bit of hand gel, soap is hit and miss. Go before you leave the hotel and then it stops being a thing you think about.
