End the day at a mountain mirador, where sweeping vistas of pine forests and valleys offer perfect photo stops before your driver brings you comfortably back to Puerto Vallarta.
San Sebastián Main Plaza & Church. This small mountain pueblo, a designated Pueblo Mágico, feels like stepping back in time. The plaza is surrounded by historic whitewashed buildings, and the 18th-century church stands quietly at its center. Narrow cobblestone streets branch out in all directions, perfect for photos and short strolls that capture the town’s colonial charm.
San Sebastián’s cool climate makes it a natural spot for coffee cultivation, and small haciendas around town still roast beans using traditional methods. Visitors can learn about the process, explore rustic facilities, and enjoy a freshly brewed cup while looking out over lush hillsides. It’s both an educational and sensory stop that highlights the region’s agricultural heritage.
Mountain Mirador. Just outside the town, scenic pull-offs reveal sweeping views of pine forests and mountain ridges. The cooler air and elevated scenery contrast sharply with Puerto Vallarta’s coastal setting, making the drive itself a highlight. These stops are perfect for wide-angle photography and a refreshing pause before heading back.
