You must also visit the Basilica, home to the famous statue of the Black Madonna, patron saint of Catalonia. Here you can also see fantastic artifacts and painting from the great El Greco. If you are lucky enough to be visiting Montserrat on a weekday, then you can sit in on a performance from the Escolania all-boys choir. This is the oldest boy’s choirs in the whole of Europe, and a great tradition in this area of Spain. If you have a little extra time at this point in the tour, then you can also pay a visit to the Montserrat audiovisual museum to hear all about the monks that used to call this mountain home. After an exhilarating morning in the mountains, your driver will then take you down to the world-famous Sant Sadurni d’Anoia area. Sant Sadurni d’Anoia has over 450 years of winemaking experience, and the biggest underground wine cellars in the world, where the first bottle of Cava was made. At this point, you have the chance to have a private wine tasting (Kindly note that this part if fully optional and includes and additional cost of 19 Euro per person, or 150 per group if you wish to have a guided tour of the winery included.
