   Begin your journey at the magnificent Citadel of Salah El-Din, one of Cairo’s most important historic landmarks. Built in the 12th century by Salah El-Din, the citadel was created to protect Cairo and has witnessed centuries of Egypt’s political and military history. Inside, discover the spectacular Mosque of Muhammad Ali, famous for its impressive Ottoman architecture, enormous domes, elegant minarets, and breathtaking views over Cairo.    Continue to the heart of Coptic Cairo and discover one of Egypt’s most beautiful and historic churches, the Hanging Church. Dating back to the early centuries of Christianity in Egypt, the church was built above the ancient Roman Fortress of Babylon, giving it its famous name. Inside, admire its beautiful wooden ceiling, hisTitle *toric icons, ancient artwork, and unique architecture. Your guide will reveal the fascinating story of Egypt’s early Christian community and explain why this church remains one of the most important landmarks of Coptic Cairo.

   Next, visit Abu Serga Church, one of the oldest Christian churches in Cairo.    Cave Church of Saint Simon

   End your journey with one of Cairo’s most unexpected hidden gems, the spectacular Cave Church of Saint Simon. Carved directly into the Mokattam Mountain, this enormous church is surrounded by the remarkable community of Cairo’s Zabbaleen and is famous for its breathtaking rock-carved architecture.
